Afternoon all!
Here for a post race write-up from last Thursday's event, as well as some exciting events coming up that we will be participating in.
Starting with the race on Thursday, we fought off the rain and waited to hit the track around 6pm. We got our practice in and felt pretty good about the car headed into the heat. We started 4th place out of 10, and they took 7 to the handicap for the feature with no consi (to try and beat the weather). We got into a good rhythm at the drop of the flag for a handful of laps on the high side, and started making our way around the pole starting car with the 3rd place car. After clearing the car on the inside, the car in front of us got pushed up the track back in front of us and dragged us back to the end of the field, where we finished 8th.
This put us starting 3rd to last in the feature. We battled hard green to checkers, but only managed to get by a few cars and get stuck behind a double file group in front of us for the majority of the race, and wound up finishing 14th. Though it wasn't the night we wanted, we dodged some bullets with the car, and brought it home in one piece to work on setup for this Thursday.
This week is the 4th annual Road Warrior Challenge, where the crunch bunch goes 50 green flag laps for an extra purse! Post Time of the event is 7PM. Full schedule to be posted below.
The other exciting bits of news we have is that we will be making another appearance at the VT Antique & Classic Car Meet Friday through Sunday in the racing section by the road! We were fortunate enough to take part in this last year, and wound up winning our first late model race after finishing the event! A link to the website will be posted below to get a full rundown of the happenings. We look forward to seeing you all there!
