Myers Triple Crown #2

Good race-day-morning all!

Early morning write-up from a late night of racing last Thursday night. We saw the second leg of the Myers Triple Crown Series, and brought a decent car in all 3 practices. We drew a 52 chip for starting position, which put us 11th in the second heat race, meaning the worst we could get was an even 0 for the feature. We used up our right side tires that had about 20 laps left on them for our heat race, and it was the best decision we could've made. Starting last, we drove the car up to the final qualifying spot in 5th for a plus 6, meaning when all was said and done in the qualifying races we started on the pole for the feature.

Come feature time, it had been a couple of hours since we'd seen the track. We tried our best to adjust the car for how we thought the track would be, but this time we didn't get so lucky. Coming to the green flag the car had a big push that didn't go away for about 20 laps. We had fell back to 5th place by the first caution, and by halfway through the race, we had fell even further to around 9th after getting stuck behind some lapped cars. With about 20 to go, we made our way back up to the high side and used some more lapped cars to our advantage this time, and fought back to 6th place by the time the race was over at lap 75.

Although it wasn't the finish we wanted, we still managed a top 10 and moved up to 7th place in points, only 60 out of the lead. Tonight we'll be looking to keep our momentum going, and hopefully can park the car in victory lane for the first time this year.

Post time tonight is 7PM, and we will be the second feature on the night. Walk up tickets are available if you want to watch from the track, or you can still tune in to NSNsports.net and watch from the comfort of your home. Either way, we hope you support our team and watch a good nights worth of racing!
