Quick post race write-up from the last two weeks of racing (week 3 was a washout)
Governors Cup was an interesting one to say the least. We were decent on speed all day, and come feature time, we had driven close to the top 10. A restart roughly 40 laps in saw us starting outside, and we got dragged back to our eventual finishing spot in 16th, and got lapped after a long 80 lap green flag run. Our best possible finish for the night would've been 14th after we got lapped, but we brought it home in one piece and picked up some speed towards the end of the run that we felt happy with.
Preston's Kia Night was an equally interesting night in terms of track luck. We qualified through the heat and started 7th in the feature. 15 laps in we had driven our way around some cars into 3rd place, but got caught by a few faster guys and passed and dropped back to 5th. We had a plethora of cautions from there on out, and seemed to get stuck behind ever slower car no matter what lane, but finished the night out in a respectable 12th when all was said and done.
Last Thursday ended in a washout which is to be run on the 20th of this month, but tomorrow we're back to our regularly scheduled events, with a post time of 7pm and a special 50 lap road warrior race to end the night.
